Did the Food Match the Menu?
Yes and Yes!
The large battered sausage exceeded my expectations. I haven’t had a battered sausage since being diagnosed with Coeliac disease – and wow, it was even better than I remember.
The Salt & Pepper Chicken box was really tasty. It came with onions, peppers and chilli, giving it a Chinese Style. I think I would have preferred the Chicken Box without the spice and a bit more plain but it was still really tasty. The deep fried chicken strips were my favourite, the breadcrumbs did not taste noticeably gluten free. My partner (who is not gluten free) couldn’t stop stealing them off my plate.
The chips were your standard fish and chip shop chips. Quite fluffy on the inside, but also a bit greasy.
This Sounds Too Good To Be True – Surely It Isn’t Coeliac Safe?
Now when it comes to ordering takeaways or using Uber Eats, I always recommend ringing the place beforehand to make sure they can prepare the food safely.
This time, I didn’t do that. But I did do a bit of Googling to check the reviews, and many people mentioned that The Dolphin cooks gluten free food in a separate fryer. So I decided to trust that and place my order.
Would I Recommend The Dolphin?
100 percent!
Next time you’re scrolling endlessly on Uber Eats or trying to pick a takeaway, just search for The Dolphin and you will have so many options to choose from.
