Quick Summary:

  • An American breakfast brunch restaurant across Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds
  • A really big menu, from pancakes (not gluten free)  to fried breakfasts
  • A gluten free menu can be provided, with options such as  gluten free toast
  • Location: Across Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds (We visited the Manchester, Piccadilly location)

Two Locations in Manchester City Centre: Piccadilly Station and Spring Gardens

Moose Coffee has two locations in Manchester, one near Piccadilly Station and the other near Spring Gardens. I think the Spring Gardens location looks nicer—it has outdoor seating and is more spacious inside. The Piccadilly location, on the other hand, has an upstairs with additional seating but feels quite small overall.

We visited the Moose Coffee by Piccadilly Station as the other restaurant was fully booked, being a Saturday morning. Despite that, we still really enjoyed our time at Moose Coffee and will be returning in the near future to try other dishes they have to offer!

A Gluten Free Menu at Moose Coffee: GF Bread Available

Moose Coffee did provide me with a gluten-free menu, seen in image below. As you can see, there were lots of options to choose from and I did take my time to decide. Despite there being many options, Moose Coffee does not offer gluten free pancakes, waffles or french toast, which I guess is quite standard for brunch restaurants. But it can be disappointing when I am craving something sweet!

A Tough and Long Decision: Picking What To Eat

Most of the gluten free options are egg dishes on toast with variations of other ingredients. So I eventually chose the Eggs Benedict Half and Half: New Jersey Moose (potato hash) and the New York Moose (Serrano Ham), all on toasted gluten-free bread.

It was delish!

The eggs benedict were cooked to perfection, and the Moose Hollandaise sauce was very tasty. I really enjoyed the potato hash, although it had a strong onion flavour than expected, and the serrano ham was great. However, the gluten free bread was just a standard seeded loaf you’d find in a supermarket – nothing homecooked or special.

Would I Recommend Going to Moose Coffee?

I would recommend Moose Coffee if you enjoy brunch dishes, especially those centered around eggs on toast. There are plenty of variations to choose from, and I would definitely go back to try their salmon Eggs Benedict or maybe the Mighty Moose.

I would not recommend this brunch restaurant if you are gluten free and craving something sweet e.g. pancakes, waffles or french toast, as those are not offerred.

Overall, it’s a lovely brunch spot, with great coffee! And if you can have gluten or are with others who can, then I’d definitely suggest trying the pancakes or french toast – many other tables had them, and they looked amazing!
